A Warm Welcome to Hume Jamison, St. Julian's new Seminarian Intern:
Once again, St. Julian's is blessed to participate in the Seminary of the Southwest's Feld Education Program and welcome Hume Jamison to our family of faith as our Seminarian Intern. He will be serving with us for the next two academic years. Hume will be among us as both a learner and leader. Field Education allows seminarians, preparing for ordination, to both practice leadership in a parish setting and learn through experience more about the intricacies of congregational life. Please join me in welcoming Hume, when you see him around the church.
Below is a brief bio that he has provided for us to know a little more about him:
"I come from the Diocese of Southern Ohio, more specifically Cincinnati, Ohio where I was born and have lived most of my life. I graduated in 2012 from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in History. While in college, I served as a youth director and a summer camp counselor with the diocesan summer camp. Immediately following college, I served as an intern with the Episcopal Service Corp Life Together program in Boston, MA. I was stationed at a small parish in Quincy, MA serving as a Pastoral Associate working with the youth and young adult ministries, Chinese ministry and offering seasonal bible studies, as well as serving in a few different liturgical roles.
Following my internship year, I returned to Cincinnati to work at a family homeless shelter that's mission is to bring together faith communities of all varieties to house families in need for a week at a time. As the Shelter Operations Coordinator, I oversaw the day to day operations of the shelter which meant that I could be unclogging toilets, handling client issues, and organizing volunteers all within the same hour. I am now enrolled at the Seminary of the Southwest as Master of Divinity student seeking ordination."
Again, please join me in offering Hume a warm welcome, as we work to transition him well into our very special family of faith.
If you have any questions about Hume's role at St. Julian's or anything in our shared life, feel free, as always, to contact me directly by clicking here. I hope this reaches you and yours well.
Peace and Warm Friendship,
Vicar, St. Julian of Norwich Episcopal Church
