A Wrap Up of Last Sunday's In-Gathering and Invitation to Still Participate:
The picture below is of those who joined us this past Sunday on our new land to offer prayers and blessings for the work God is preparing us to do in building a new church. The whole morning, from our In-Gathering Service, to the picnic, to the land blessing, was truly glorious. It speaks of all we have, with God's help, accomplished together over the past 12 plus years and all that still lies ahead of us in our bright God-led future. As I like to say, we are truly only just beginning!
In regards to In-Gathering in particular, which concludes our 2021 "Season of Giving Thanks", I want to thank all those who have already made a pledge of prayer, time, talent and financial resources to support God's work in and through our family of faith in the year to come. We made great strides toward reaching our financial goals for 2022 this past Sunday. However, we have not fully achieved those goals. We are still hoping to collect pledges from both those who have made generous commitments in the past and those new to St. Julian's. In particular, we are hoping to collect another $50,000 in financial commitments to assure us of being able to return our ministry budgets to pre-pandemic levels, provide a cost of living increase to our staff salaries (not done since 2018), and assure the Rev. Jonathan's McManus-Dail's position on our staff beyond June 30, 2022.
I am confident that we will get there in the coming weeks but ask that if you are yet to make your pledge for 2022 that you will do so, as you are able. Your leadership has a commitment to only budget pledged dollars and to create a balanced budget. To this end, we need all of our pledges in by the first week in December, which is when our Finance and Administration Committee will meet to finalize the 2022 budget. The easiest way to make your pledge is by using our online Ministry Commitment Form (pledge card), which is linked here. You are also welcome to email me directly with your 2022 pledge or if you would like to discuss your giving. I am always available to chat on the phone or meet in-person. We are 80% of the way there and believe those who are yet to make a pledge can and will get us over the top!
I am so excited for the year to come. And, though there will surely be bumps along the way as we continue to make our way through this pandemic, I believe it will be a year that will see the full return of the abundant life, suffused with God's love, that we enjoy together at St. Julian's (hopefully including a ground-breaking!). Truly, it is sharing a family of faith with each of you that brings me the most joy! I am so grateful for each of you.
If you have any questions about the conclusion of the "Season of Giving Thanks", your participation in In-Gathering, or we can be helpful otherwise, please don't hesitate to reach out. I hope this reaches you and yours as well as possible.
Peace and Warm Friendship,
