Advent 2022 at St. Julian's: Joyful Anticipation:
Advent arrives this coming Sunday, Nov 27 and, with it, many opportunities to gather for fellowship and formation, as we prepare to greet with joy and wonder the Babe of Bethlehem in our Christmas celebrations. Please read on for a list of our 2022 Advent offerings at St. Julian's.
Advent Angel Tree Supporting Two Families at Foundation Communities (through Dec 11): This Christmas St. Julian's is providing presents for two families at Foundation Communities (both with single moms and 2 children). The Angel Tree is in the entry of the church. Please take an ornament from the tree that lists a type of gift card with an amount on it. Simply purchase that card and return it to the box below the tree by Sunday, Dec 11. For questions, email Debbie.

Light refreshments will be served, and it will be the perfect time to pick up your Christmas gift from the Women’s Ministry. To let us know you are coming, email Erica. Friends are warmly welcome.
Advent Taize Service, Sunday, Dec 4 at 5 PM: Join us as we center ourselves in the Season of Advent with song, candlelight, scripture readings, and quiet contemplation. The service is being co-lead by our Youth and Music Ministries. Taize is a religious community in France focused on ministry with young people rooted in worship and song. The music is both prayerful and accessible. Come sing with us! The nursery will be available.
Screening of "The Ants and the Grasshoppers" with Dinner and Reflection, Wednesday, Dec 7, 6-8:30 PM in the Worship Space: Join our Theologian-in-Residence, Dr. Tony Baker, for a very special screening of this award winning documentary focused on sustainable food production for our nation and world. The evening will include dinner, and we invite you to bring a side or dessert to share. After the screening, Dr. Baker will lead us in a time of theological reflection on the film. The nursery will be open and older children and youth are invited to participate. Friends and family are warmly welcome. For questions, email Tony.

You choose the time that is best for you, noon or 7 PM. To register and get the Zoom link, email Patty with the time you would like to participate.
Advent Lessons and Carols, Sunday, Dec 18 at 10 AM (one service): On the 4th Sunday of Advent we will have one special service at 10 AM that marks in scripture and song the promise of the coming of our Dear Savior's birth, which is nothing less than the salvation of the world! Following the service we invite all to stay for a time of fellowship.
As you can see there is much at St. Julian's to make this season a time of joyful anticipation and preparation for Christmas that comes again soon and very soon. I look forward to making the journey to Bethlehem together. If you have any questions about Advent at St. Julian's, please reach out to Jonathan or me at anytime. God bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
