Follow-up and Gratitude for In-Gathering at St. Julian's:
Sunday, Nov 11, officially concluded our 2018 "Season of Giving Thanks" with our annual In-Gathering Service and Thanksgiving Meal. My sincere thanks to our Stewardship Ministry, led by Matthew Abrahamson, for leading the way this year. Further, I want to offer thanks to Matthew and Jen Philbrook for organizing a lovely Thanksgiving Meal following the service, which offered time to enjoy the the company and warmth of the family of faith we share. Further, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every individual and family who made a pledge of prayer, time, talent and treasure to further God's mission and ministry in and through St. Julian's in the year to come. We are a generous lot at St. Julian's, and the full church last Sunday and many pledges received speak to the fact that we are making a significant difference for good and for God in the lives of many. It is a blessing to be on the journey together, and my heart overflows in appreciation for each of you.
In many ways, In-Gathering Sunday is really just the beginning of receiving the commitments required to continue our ministry in the coming year. We are still hoping to gather-in at least 15 more pledges and over $50,000 more in commitments to reach our goals in terms of both participation and overall funding for the 2019 Budget. To this end, if you are yet to make a pledge for 2019 or were just away last Sunday, we hope that you will still consider making a timely pledge to support our family of faith in the year to come. Our average pledge in 2018 was about $3600, and perhaps this is a place to consider for your own giving. However, we know, and it is all to the good, that we each give differently and in different ways.
To make or complete your pledge, you will find a link just below to our 2019 Ministry Commitment Card, which can be printed out, completed, scanned, and email directly to me at the link in the paragraph just below or placed in the offering baskets on Sunday. If easier, you can also just email me directly your intended pledge for the coming year. One way or another, we hope all will choose to participate, as you are able and feel led. And, my deepest thanks for your consideration, support, and for all the ways you help make St. Julian's a special place. I look forward to another year of, "Growing in Relationship, Loving all Well, and Seeking Intimacy with Christ".
If you have any questions about your participation in In-Gathering at St. Julian's or would like to email any commitment directly to me, feel free, as always, to contact me by clicking here. I hope this reaches you and yours well.
Peace and Warm Friendship,
Vicar, St. Julian of Norwich Episcopal Church
