Good Soil Capital Campaign and Land Event, Sunday, Sept 27, 12:30-1:30 PM on Zoom:
On Sunday, Sept 27 from 12:30-1:30 PM on Zoom, St. Julian's is hosting a Good Soil Capital Campaign Event (link here, Meeting ID: 454-165-4703). Everyone in our St. Julian's family is invited to join us, whether or not, you have made a pledge to the current Good Soil Capital Campaign. The purpose of the gathering is threefold.
First, we want to update the community on our work to close on about 9 acres of land that the Episcopal Diocese of Texas currently has under contract for a future permanent home and campus for our church. This work is on-going and currently focused on re-zoning the property so that it can used for our particular purposes.
Second, as we come to the final semester of the current campaign, we want to update you on where we stand in terms of pledges and dollars received. Further, we want to let you know how those dollars are already being used to begin design and engineering work on the property.
Third, we want to let you know about our vision for future capital fundraising efforts and how that ties into our annual fundraising campaign this fall (The Season of Giving Thanks). We know that these are uncertain times that we are living through together, and we want to be sure you have the information you need of what will be required of our family of faith to continue our on-going mission and ministry (annual giving) and future construction project (capital campaign giving).
Lastly, I want to note that our leadership has determined that our future capital fundraising work will be delayed at least a year in order to focus this fall on annual fundraising to support the 2021 operating budget. However, we do believe that this creates an opportunity for those who have the personal ability to continue to give to the current Good Soil Capital Campaign in the coming year to do so. We are calling this a "4th Year Pledge" to Good Soil. Further, this creates the opportunity for those who could use a 4th year to complete their current Good Soil pledge the space to do so. Contact Miles if interested in discussing either of these options.
We will have more information on all that is above at the gathering on Sept, 27. And, before signing off, it is important to me to say thank you for your generosity and commitment to our family of faith. It is your commitment of time, talent and financial resources that, with God's help, makes living into our God-given purpose, vision and mission possible. Words really cannot express my gratitude. So, I will just say, again, a heartfelt thank you.
