St. Julian's Discovery Class begins Sunday, April 8 between morning services (10:30 AM):
Once again this spring, St. Julian's will offer a five-week Discovery Class for those interested in formally joining St. Julian's and the Episcopal Church (Sundays, April 8-May 6 at 10:30 AM). The opportunity is also open to those who have been with us for some time and are interested in just coming to know more about our history, faith and practices, as both a unique family of faith, called St. Julian's, and as a part of the larger Episcopal Church.
The program will be co-led by our Seminarian, Andrew Green, and Vicar, Miles. There will also be time set aside to just come to know those who participate better as we seek to "grow in relationship", as our Vision Statement reads. Topics will include: our own spiritual journeys, the story of St. Julian's from founding to today, the larger Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, the sacraments, understanding the ways we worship and read the Bible, and how we live our faith, among others.
Following the class, those who are interested in formally joining the church will be invited to do so through Baptism, Confirmation or Reception at our next Bishop's visit, which is Sunday, June 24th at our regular morning services. Although making all five classes is not a requirement to participate or join the church, we do hope those who join the class will make attendance a priority those five Sundays. If you have questions or would like to reserve a spot, email Miles.
