Welcoming our New Middler Seminarian, Stacey Carpenter, to St. Julian's:
For many years now St. Julian's has been blessed to participate in the Field Education Program of the Seminary of the Southwest. This academic year Hume Jamison returns to learn and lead among us in his senior year, and we blessed to welcome a new seminarian to our church, Stacey Carpenter, who begins her first of two years with us. You have seen Stacey with us reading in worship and will see here become more involved with us as the school year progresses. Below is a picture and bio to be able to put a face to a name and learn more about Stacey. Please join me in offering Stacey a hearty welcome. To reach Stacey directly, she can be emailed here. For questions about seminarians serving at St. Julian's, email Miles.
Stacey Carpenter is a Master of Divinity (M.Div) seminary student in her second year of studies at the Seminary of the Southwest. Stacey is a native New Yorker and is sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Prior to seminary, Stacey had a twenty-year career in corporate America with her last few years working in healthcare leading an anti-stigma campaign for mental health and substance use disorder. Through her own life experiences and witness the experiences of others, Stacey feels deeply passionate about the redemptive healing one encounters through relationship with God incarnate, Jesus Christ and what this relationship can mean for our relationship with ourselves and the world.
Stacey has a four-legged partner in crime, a French Bulldog, named Miracle. When not studying, Stacey enjoys being out in nature or spending time with friends and family.
