Children's Minister: Jennifer Cowles

Programs for Children

Nursery Care (infants through 3-year-olds) is available each Sunday during both worship services and the Christian Education hour. The Nursery is located near the front entrance to the church.

Children's Chapel (ages PreK4-3rd grade) is offered at both the 9:00 and 11:15 services during the Liturgy of the Word (between the Gospel hymn and the Peace). Children's Chapel mirrors the prayers, songs and teaching in "big" church with attention given to language and themes appropriate for children. Children’s Chapel is led by our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Jennifer Cowles, with assistance from community volunteers. If you are interested in serving as an assistant for one Sunday or more, email Jennifer.

Christian Education

PreK4-2nd graders explore the Jesus Storybook Bible curriculum, which includes stories from the Old and New Testaments and storytelling, video, song and directed activities/crafts. Class meets in the Yellow Room.

3rd-5th graders also explore the Jesus Storybook Bible lessons with an age-appropriate focus on different parts of the curriculum. Class meets in the Blue Room.

6th-12th graders delve into "Companions for the Journey", a bible study with discussion and activities generated from topics discerned directly by our teens from real life challenges and opportunities. Led by our Vicar, Miles, with support from our Youth Coordinator, Elle. Class meets in the Youth Room.

Our Youth Group (6th-12th grades) meets on most Sunday evenings during the school year from 4:30-7:00 for dinner, games and spiritual formation. In addition, we have many other special events and gatherings throughout the school year and summer. For more information, a schedule, and to receive our weekly Student E-Newsletter, email Elle, our Youth Ministry Coordinator.

Special Events

Christmas Eve Pageant: All kids are welcome! Costumes provided. A few parts are assigned and require a rehearsal, but every child who comes can join in as an angel or shepherd as we reenact the birth of our Savior.

Vacation Bible School: In June or July each summer.

Safeguarding God's Children

All adults who volunteer with children or youth at St. Julian's are required to complete Safeguarding God's Children training. To register for training, click here. For questions, email Jennifer, our Children's Minister and Safeguarding Officer.
